FIFA World Cup 2026: Round of 16 Line-up Confirmed, Knockout Battle Begins

The knockout stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to begin as the tournament enters the Round of 16. Sixteen teams have secured their places after an intense group stage and Round of 32, with every match now becoming a winner-takes-all contest.

Among the qualified teams are Canada, Brazil, Paraguay, Morocco, Norway, France, Mexico, England, Belgium, the United States, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Egypt, Argentina and Colombia. Several teams booked their places after dramatic penalty shootouts, while others advanced with convincing victories.

The Round of 16 opens on July 4 with Canada taking on Morocco, followed by France facing Paraguay. On July 5, Brazil will meet Norway before Mexico clashes with England.

The action continues on July 6 with a blockbuster European showdown between Portugal and Spain, while the United States face Belgium later the same day. The final two Round of 16 fixtures will be played on July 7, featuring Argentina against Egypt and Switzerland against Colombia.

The winners of these eight matches will advance to the quarterfinals and move one step closer to lifting the FIFA World Cup trophy.
