Wife, Lover Arrested for Brutal Husband Murder in Ranchi

Police in Ranchi have arrested a woman and her alleged lover for the murder of her husband in a case that investigators say was planned to conceal the victim's identity.

According to police, the victim was allegedly killed before his head was severed and the body was set on fire in a forest using petrol. The partially burnt body was discovered on June 19 in Bundu, triggering an intensive investigation.

Authorities said a tattoo on the victim's wrist helped establish his identity as 27-year-old Sanjay Lohra.

During the investigation, police alleged that the victim's wife had been in a relationship with another man for nearly two years. Investigators believe the murder was planned after the husband reportedly became aware of the relationship.

Police claim the victim was lured to the area on the pretext of attending a family function, where he was allegedly attacked and killed before the body was disposed of in the forest.

The accused have been arrested, and police said the victim's severed head, the suspected murder weapon, a vehicle and other evidence have been recovered. The investigation is continuing.
