Hardoi: A video showing the alleged assault of a young man in Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi district has gone viral on social media.
The incident reportedly took place after an argument over moving a truck. Police have launched an investigation based on the victim's complaint and the viral footage.
According to police, Prabhat Dixit, a resident of Pakri village under Sawayajpur police station limits, was trying to move his empty truck on Thursday afternoon when it got stuck inside the premises of a nearby school.
The victim alleged that around 10 people from Barsohiya village arrived with sticks and assaulted him
. He also claimed that the attackers damaged the side window of his truck by pelting stones and threatened him with dire consequences before leaving.
A passerby recorded the incident, and the video has since spread widely on social media
. The victim submitted a written complaint to the police at around 5:30 PM on Thursday. Station House Officer Prince Kumar said the police are examining the video, identifying the accused, and taking further legal action based on the investigation.
