Delhi Police Claims Fake News 
New Delhi: Delhi Police has addressed the circulation of viral social media content related to the ongoing CJP protest at Jantar Mantar, alleging that a coordinated misinformation campaign is attempting to mislead the public.
During a press conference, police officials stated that their investigation has identified several social media accounts allegedly operating from Pakistan that were sharing false information connected to the protest.
According to Delhi Police, more than 400 social media handles have been identified for allegedly spreading misleading posts, AI-generated content, deepfake videos, edited photographs, and manipulated visual material related to the demonstrations. Authorities said appropriate action is being taken in coordination with relevant social media platforms.
Police officials further claimed that some posts had altered statements made by senior officials and presented them in misleading contexts. They also alleged that edited videos and manipulated images were circulated to create confusion and influence public opinion.
DCP Central Rohit Rajbir Singh urged citizens not to trust every post circulating online. He advised people to verify the authenticity of photos, videos, and social media posts before forwarding or sharing them, emphasizing that misinformation spreads rapidly on digital platforms.
Delhi Police said its cyber and social media monitoring teams are continuously tracking online activity related to the protest. Suspected fake content is being reviewed, and coordination with digital platforms is ongoing to limit the spread of misleading information.
Officials also appealed to the public to use social media responsibly and report suspicious or misleading content instead of amplifying it.
The police allegations have not been independently verified, and the matter remains under investigation.
