New Delhi: A major relief has emerged for many participants involved in the CJP protest held at Jantar Mantar over NEET-related issues and education reforms. The Delhi government has indicated that no fresh legal action will be initiated against individuals who participated peacefully in the demonstration.
According to official information, the decision aims to provide relief to those who exercised their democratic right to protest without engaging in violence or unlawful activities. Authorities believe that peaceful demonstrations should not automatically result in prolonged legal proceedings.
However, the government has clarified that this relief will not apply to individuals with criminal records or those accused of serious offences during the protest. Cases involving violence, attacks on police personnel, damage to public property, or other criminal acts will continue to be investigated and processed in accordance with the law.
Officials stated that each case is being reviewed individually. Participants found to have taken part only in peaceful demonstrations may receive relief from further legal proceedings. On the other hand, law enforcement agencies are continuing to examine CCTV footage, mobile recordings, and other digital evidence to identify those allegedly involved in violent incidents.
The administration has reiterated that maintaining public order remains its primary responsibility. While peaceful protest is respected, any act of violence or destruction of public property will continue to invite legal action.
The move is being viewed as a significant relief for peaceful protesters, while the government has emphasized that there will be no relaxation in cases involving criminal conduct or public disorder.
