Patna: The Bihar Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, approved several key proposals aimed at strengthening governance, the judicial system, and preparations for the Independence Day celebrations. A total of 17 proposals were cleared during the meeting.
The Cabinet approved the creation of 171 new non-gazetted posts in 19 additional Special Courts established under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. The move is expected to speed up the disposal of pending cases and improve access to justice for victims. An additional 27 posts were also sanctioned to support the smooth functioning of these courts.
To support the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign-2026, the state government sanctioned ₹6.12 crore. The campaign will feature patriotic events and public outreach programmes based on the "Vande Mataram" theme, encouraging citizens across Bihar to participate in the nationwide Independence Day celebrations.
The Cabinet also approved the deployment of 330 Home Guards to strengthen security at child care institutions and shelter homes across the state. The decision aims to enhance the safety and protection of children living in these facilities.
Apart from these measures, the Cabinet cleared several financial, administrative, and departmental proposals intended to improve public service delivery and strengthen the state's institutional framework.
