Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continued his sensational run in the Indian Premier League, smashing a rapid half-century to lead Rajasthan Royals to a six-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Chasing a target of 202, the 15-year-old played a stunning knock of 78 off just 26 balls, hitting eight fours and seven sixes, as Rajasthan reached the target with two overs remaining. Sooryavanshi, who had earlier impressed with a 35-ball century in his debut season, is now among the top run-scorers this season, with 200 runs in four innings at an extraordinary strike rate of 266.6.
He brought up his fifty in just 15 balls for the second time this season, having achieved a similar feat earlier against Chennai Super Kings. His aggressive batting put RCB under immediate pressure, especially as he took on bowlers like Josh Hazlewood with ease. Alongside Dhruv Jurel, he helped Rajasthan race to 97 for 1 in the powerplay, setting the tone for the chase.
Although Krunal Pandya briefly slowed the momentum by dismissing Sooryavanshi and triggering a mini-collapse, Jurel held his composure and anchored the innings with an unbeaten 81 off 43 balls. The 108-run partnership between Sooryavanshi and Jurel proved decisive, ensuring Rajasthan remained unbeaten at the top of the table, while RCB stayed in third place.
