A shocking school shooting in Turkey has left at least 16 people wounded after an 18-year-old former student opened fire at a vocational high school in Siverek. Authorities confirmed that the attacker later died by suicide inside the school building.

According to officials, the gunman used a shotgun and fired randomly, causing panic among students and staff. The attack injured 10 students, four teachers, a canteen worker, and a police officer. Emergency services quickly responded, and the injured were transported to nearby hospitals, with several in serious condition shifted to facilities in Sanliurfa for advanced treatment.

Security forces surrounded the school after the attacker barricaded himself inside and refused to surrender. He was eventually found dead after taking his own life. Authorities stated that a full investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the attack, which remains unclear.

Footage from the scene showed frightened students fleeing the campus as police units secured the area. Officials noted that such school shootings are rare in Turkey, making the incident particularly alarming.
 
The government has pledged a comprehensive probe into the tragedy as the community grapples with the aftermath of the violence.
