Rockets Crush Lakers as Wembanyama Leads Spurs to Brink of Playoff Progress
The Houston Rockets delivered a commanding 115-96 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers to keep their playoff hopes alive, while Victor Wembanyama made an impressive return to guide the San Antonio Spurs to the brink of advancing.

Amen Thompson led the Rockets with 23 points as Houston bounced back strongly from a previous overtime loss, cutting the series deficit to 3-1. The team’s aggressive defense proved crucial, forcing 24 turnovers from the Lakers and converting them into 30 points.

Despite the defeat, the Lakers still hold the advantage in the series and will look to close it out in Game 5 at home. However, they struggled throughout the game, with LeBron James managing just 10 points on limited shooting while committing eight turnovers. Injuries to key players Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves further weakened their lineup.

Deandre Ayton was a standout for the Lakers with 19 points and 10 rebounds, but his impact was cut short after he was ejected in the third quarter following an on-court incident.

Meanwhile, in Portland, Victor Wembanyama returned from concussion protocol in spectacular fashion. The French star recorded 27 points, 11 rebounds, and seven blocks, showcasing his dominance on both ends of the court. His performance helped the Spurs secure a 114-93 comeback victory over the Trail Blazers after trailing by 19 points earlier in the game.

De’Aaron Fox added 28 points as San Antonio outscored Portland heavily in the second half, taking a 3-1 lead in the series. The Spurs now have the chance to seal progression in Game 5.

Elsewhere, the Boston Celtics strengthened their position with a dominant 128-96 win over the Philadelphia 76ers. Payton Pritchard scored 32 points off the bench, while Jayson Tatum contributed 30 points, seven rebounds, and 11 assists in a comprehensive performance. Joel Embiid returned for the 76ers but could not prevent the heavy defeat despite scoring 26 points.

In Toronto, the Raptors edged the Cleveland Cavaliers 93-89 to level their series at 2-2. Scottie Barnes and Brandon Ingram led the scoring, helping Toronto rally late in the game to secure a crucial win.

With multiple series finely poised and others nearing conclusion, the NBA playoffs continue to deliver high-intensity action and standout individual performances.
