Rubio Warns US Could Act If Iran Talks Collapse
Marco Rubio has warned that the United States could pursue “another way” if ongoing negotiations with Iran fail to produce a strong agreement.
Speaking during an official visit to New Delhi, Rubio said Washington still prefers a diplomatic solution but stressed that the US is prepared for alternative measures if talks collapse.

Rubio stated that negotiators have placed what he described as a “pretty solid” proposal on the table, particularly regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial global shipping route.
The comments came after Donald Trump played down expectations of an immediate agreement to end the conflict involving the US, Israel and Iran.

Although a ceasefire has largely held since April, tensions remain high as Iran continues to restrict shipping through the Strait of Hormuz while the US maintains a naval blockade on Iranian ports.
Trump said the blockade would remain active until a formal agreement is reached and officially signed.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei acknowledged that progress had been made in negotiations but cautioned that a final deal was not close.
He said Iran and the US had resolved many discussion points but added there were no guarantees Washington would honour future commitments.

According to reports, discussions between both sides include the possible disposal of Iran’s highly enriched uranium in exchange for lifting the US naval blockade and reopening international shipping routes.
American officials reportedly believe Iran’s leadership has broadly approved the framework of the negotiations, though no formal confirmation has been issued by Tehran.
The talks are being closely monitored by regional powers including Pakistan and China, both of which have called for stability in the Middle East.

Analysts say the situation remains uncertain, with major disagreements still unresolved despite signs of diplomatic progress.
Experts also warned that public statements from both sides may be part of broader negotiation tactics rather than indications of an imminent breakthrough.
