The Uttar Pradesh government has accelerated preparations to transform the state into one of India's leading textile and apparel manufacturing hubs. Under the ambitious Sant Kabir Textile and Apparel Park Scheme, modern textile parks will be developed across five major districts through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
More than 326 acres of land have been identified for the project, and the land transfer process has already received cabinet approval. The initiative is expected to attract domestic and international investment while creating thousands of employment opportunities for local youth, artisans, and workers.
The proposed textile parks will be established in Varanasi, Amroha, Bareilly, Bijnor, and Sant Kabir Nagar. Varanasi will host a dedicated apparel cluster on 75 acres, while the remaining districts will also receive large-scale industrial infrastructure to support textile production and garment manufacturing.
Authorities have already initiated feasibility studies and infrastructure planning. The pre-feasibility report for the Varanasi project has been submitted, while reports for the remaining parks are in the final stages of preparation. Work on road connectivity and power infrastructure is also moving forward to ensure uninterrupted industrial operations.
The parks are being designed according to global environmental standards, with a strong focus on sustainable and eco-friendly industrial development. Necessary environmental clearances and infrastructure approvals are being processed to ensure timely execution.
Officials believe the project will strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s textile exports, encourage industrial growth, and contribute significantly to the state's goal of becoming a one-trillion-dollar economy. The initiative is also expected to provide new opportunities for traditional weavers and craftsmen by connecting them with modern manufacturing and global markets.
