NEET Fraud Exposed: Solver Gang Manipulated Biometrics, 30 Arrested in Bihar

A major NEET-UG examination scam has been uncovered in Bihar, revealing how a solver gang manipulated biometric verification systems to allow fake candidates to appear for the medical entrance test.

According to investigators, the operation was allegedly led by Ravishankar, a student of Pawapuri Medical College in Rajgir. He reportedly recruited medical students from different colleges to act as solvers and appear in the examination on behalf of genuine candidates.

Police investigations have further revealed that Mayank Kashyap, a fourth-year student of Patna Medical College, allegedly worked as biometric staff and played a role in facilitating unauthorized entry for impersonators.

So far, authorities have arrested 30 people, including nine medical students, biometric agency personnel, gang members, and one original candidate.

Preliminary findings suggest that the gang charged candidates between ₹10 lakh and ₹12 lakh for securing admission through fraudulent means. A portion of the payment was collected in advance, while the remaining amount was to be paid after successful admission.

Police are now examining bank accounts, call records, and digital transactions to trace the financial network behind the racket. Officials say the investigation is expanding and all those involved will face strict legal action.
