Riteish Deshmukhs historical epic Raja Shivaji has officially arrived on OTT after receiving positive reviews during its theatrical release on May 1 The film is now streaming on Netflix from June 26
The film chronicles the extraordinary journey of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj highlighting his rise from a determined young leader to one of Indias greatest rulers It explores his vision of establishing Hindavi Swarajya and his fearless resistance against the Mughal Empire and the Adil Shahi Sultanate
The story also showcases the influence of Rajmata Jijabai in shaping Shivajis character his strategic capture of forts military campaigns and the iconic confrontation with Afzal Khan that became a defining moment in his legacy
Riteish Deshmukh plays the titular role while Genelia Deshmukh portrays Saibai The ensemble cast also includes Vidya Balan Sanjay Dutt Abhishek Bachchan Bhagyashree Fardeen Khan Mahesh Manjrekar Sachin Khedekar Amole Gupte Boman Irani and Jitendra Joshi Salman Khan also makes a special cameo appearance
