Construction of what is being described as India's first modern cowshed has begun in Bareilly Uttar Pradesh. The project is being developed by the Bareilly Cantonment Board at Thiriya Road with an estimated cost of Rs 5 crore.
The facility will have the capacity to shelter more than 1000 cattle including stray and indigenous breeds. The foundation ceremony was attended by Uttar Pradesh Animal Husbandry Minister Dharampal Singh MP Chhatrapal Gangwar Cantonment MLA Sanjeev Agrawal and Cantonment Board CEO Dr Tanu Jain.
According to officials the project aims to promote cattle conservation improve indigenous breeds and provide advanced healthcare facilities. The cowshed is being designed with modern infrastructure to ensure a clean safe and stress free environment for the animals.
The authorities said the project will also focus on environmentally sustainable management practices while strengthening cattle welfare in the region.
