CBI Registers FIR in Disha Salian Death Case, Investigation Begins

The death case of Disha Salian, former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, has taken a fresh turn with the Central Bureau of Investigation registering an FIR and beginning its investigation.

Officials confirmed that the CBI has registered the case. The development follows an order by the Bombay High Court directing the central agency to investigate the circumstances surrounding Salian’s death.

Disha Salian died in Mumbai in June 2020. The case was initially investigated by the Mumbai Police. However, questions were raised over the fact that an FIR had not been registered for several years.

Bombay High Court Ordered CBI Probe

Earlier this month, the Bombay High Court ordered a CBI investigation into the death of Disha Salian. The court also questioned the Mumbai Police over the failure to register an FIR for nearly six years.

The court observed that the police investigation had raised more questions than it had answered. Following the court’s direction, the case was moved towards a fresh investigation by the central agency.

With the FIR now registered, the CBI is expected to examine the existing police records, investigation material and other evidence connected with the case. The agency may also review the circumstances surrounding Salian’s death and examine whether any aspect of the earlier investigation requires further scrutiny.# Fresh Turn After Nearly Six Years

Nearly six years after Salian’s death, the registration of an FIR by the CBI marks a significant new development in the case.

Existing police records, documents related to the incident and other available evidence could form part of the CBI’s investigation. The agency may also examine information provided by people connected with the case and review available digital or documentary evidence.

The investigation will seek to establish the circumstances surrounding Salian’s death and determine whether the facts established during the earlier inquiry require further examination.

However, no conclusion can be drawn before the investigation is completed and the evidence is independently assessed.

Connection With Sushant Singh Rajput Case

Disha Salian was the former manager of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Since Salian’s death occurred shortly before Rajput’s death, the two cases have been the subject of considerable public discussion for several years.

However, any criminal connection between the two cases would have to be established through evidence and findings of the investigating agencies. Claims made in public discussions or on social media cannot by themselves establish such a connection.

The CBI investigation is therefore expected to examine the available evidence and establish the facts surrounding Salian’s death independently.

 What Happens Next?

Following the registration of the FIR, the CBI will proceed with its investigation. The agency may review existing records, examine evidence and question people connected with the case if required.

The investigation is currently at an early stage. Its findings will determine whether further legal action is warranted and what conclusions can be drawn from the evidence collected.
