Government Claims Around 9.5 Lakh Jobs Since 2017
Yogi Adityanath said that around 9.5 lakh young people have so far received government jobs in Uttar Pradesh since 2017.
He said the government is focusing on making recruitment processes more transparent and time-bound. According to the Chief Minister, recruitment bodies and selection boards have been asked to complete the process within a defined timeline.
The Chief Minister also said that examinations, results and appointments should be completed without unnecessary delays so that selected candidates do not have to wait for long periods after clearing recruitment examinations.
Yogi Targets Previous Governments Over Recruitment Process
During his address, the Chief Minister criticised previous governments in Uttar Pradesh over the recruitment process. He alleged that before 2017, government recruitment was affected by favouritism, irregularities and pressure.
He claimed that whenever government vacancies were advertised, candidates faced problems related to recommendations and alleged irregularities. These remarks were part of the Chief Minister’s political criticism of previous governments.
Yogi Adityanath said that changes were made to the recruitment system to reduce the possibility of irregularities. He also referred to the removal of interviews from recruitment to certain Group C and Group D posts.
Focus on Health and Ayush Recruitment
The latest appointment programme also highlights recruitment in the health and Ayush sectors.
A total of 404 candidates were selected in the Ayush department, while 357 candidates were selected in medical and health services.
The Chief Minister said that traditional systems of medicine, including Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Homoeopathy and Siddha, have received greater institutional attention in recent years.
He also referred to the expansion of medical colleges and health infrastructure in the state and said that these developments are creating additional opportunities in the healthcare sector.
Youth Employment Linked to Economic Growth
The Chief Minister linked employment opportunities with the broader economic development of Uttar Pradesh. He said that the state’s young population and skilled workforce could play an important role in its economic growth.
He also claimed that the state’s economy and per-capita income have grown significantly in recent years. The government has repeatedly presented youth employment and recruitment as part of its wider development agenda.
Message to Newly Selected Candidates
Yogi Adityanath congratulated the newly selected candidates and their families. He said that receiving an appointment letter also brings responsibility because government employees directly serve the public.
He asked the selected candidates to perform their duties with honesty, discipline and responsibility and contribute to public services in their respective departments.
