Himanshu Dubey’s Book ‘Paan Aur Palash’ Launched in Jammu, Expresses Human Emotions and Struggles
Jammu: ‘Paan Aur Palash’, a book authored by Himanshu Dubey, a Hindi journalism student at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Jammu, was launched at the institute. The event was attended by Regional Director Dilip Kumar, Professor Anil Saumitra, journalist and translator Vineet Utpal, and IIS officer Neha Jalali, along with faculty members and students. The programme featured discussions on literature, writing, and youth creativity.
The book explores life experiences, human emotions, relationships, struggles, and realities through the symbolism of paan and palash. Its central theme revolves around understanding two contrasting aspects of life. Paan represents tenderness, love, affection, and emotional sensitivity, while palash symbolises struggle, resilience, difficult circumstances, and the determination to keep moving forward in life.
Through his experiences and reflections, the author attempts to convey that life does not always remain the same. While certain circumstances offer affection and a sense of belonging, hardships often teach individuals to stand firm and face challenges with courage. The book also explores the experiences of youth, the complexities of relationships, and the process of understanding life.
During the event, Regional Director Dilip Kumar extended his best wishes to Himanshu Dubey for his book. He also wrote the foreword for the publication. Professor Anil Saumitra, Vineet Utpal, and Neha Jalali appreciated the young author’s efforts and encouraged him to continue pursuing his literary journey. The programme also highlighted the importance of encouraging students’ creative expression and literary contributions.
One of the book’s distinguishing features is its attempt to explore diverse life experiences and circumstances rather than limiting itself to a single subject. Through simple language and a symbolic narrative style, the author seeks to communicate his thoughts and experiences to readers.
The book reflects Himanshu Dubey’s longstanding interest in writing and literature. Through ‘Paan Aur Palash’, he has not only given words to his personal experiences but has also encouraged readers to reflect on life, emotions, struggles, and human relationships.
The book is available on online shopping platforms Amazon and Flipkart. It has also received encouraging responses from the literary and journalism communities. As Mohammad Kaif, Managing Editor of Inquilab Hindi, extended his best wishes to Himanshu Dubey and appreciated his literary efforts. Such encouragement marks an important milestone in the young author’s writing journey.
