Delhi Police Drops Case Against Minor Over Remarks on PM

New Delhi: Delhi Police has decided not to pursue criminal action against a 15-year-old girl who allegedly used objectionable language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a protest held at Jantar Mantar.

The incident gained nationwide attention after a video of the girl speaking during the protest went viral on social media. Following the circulation of the video, complaints were filed, and a Zero FIR was initially registered by Noida Police.

At the time of registration, the girl's age was reportedly recorded as 25 years. However, during the investigation, police verified that she was actually 15 years old. The case was subsequently transferred to Delhi Police for further examination.

The girl later released a public video apologizing for her remarks. She admitted that her words were unacceptable, expressed regret, and apologized to the people of the country. She also stated that she had been influenced by others present at the protest and described it as her first and last mistake.

After verifying her age and reviewing the circumstances, Delhi Police decided not to register a formal criminal case against her. According to sources, her status as a minor and her public apology were among the factors considered during the decision-making process.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also commented publicly on the matter. He said that such "misguided children" should be forgiven rather than dragged into lengthy legal proceedings. He appealed to society to guide young people in the right direction instead of seeking revenge.

The Prime Minister also said that abusive language never solves any problem and emphasized the importance of constructive dialogue and responsible public conduct.

According to police sources, Parliament Street Police Station has declined to register a regular FIR, effectively bringing the legal proceedings to a close. No further action is expected against the minor.
