A joint operation by the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) and Knowledge Park Police in Greater Noida has exposed an interstate drug trafficking network involved in the supply of OG cannabis.
Police arrested four accused and recovered 3.65 kilograms of OG cannabis along with cash worth Rs 400,000. Officials said the seized narcotics carry a high value in the illegal market.
According to investigators, the gang allegedly imported OG cannabis from Thailand and sold it at premium prices across Delhi-NCR. Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted a Scorpio SUV near Pari Chowk and detained four occupants.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Pranay Pushp from Patna, and Yuvraj Chaudhary, Shashank Shahi and Rohan Chaudhary from Gorakhpur.
During the search, officers recovered eight sealed packets containing OG cannabis from a bag kept inside the vehicle. Another bag contained a large amount of cash.
During interrogation, Pranay revealed that he had completed a BBA degree from a private university in Greater Noida. He allegedly entered the drug trade while studying and later came into contact with Yuvraj and Shashank.
Investigators found that members of Shashank’s family reside in Thailand, from where the narcotics were allegedly sourced and brought into India. The drugs were then distributed across the NCR region.
Police also seized a Scorpio SUV, a Thar vehicle, four mobile phones, debit cards and identification documents from the accused.
Authorities said efforts are underway to identify other members of the network and trace its wider operations.
