Gurugram Hit-and-Run Case Takes New Turn, Lawyer Defends Kalyan Bainsla

A new development has emerged in the case involving a woman biker, Siya, who was hit by a car on Golf Course Road in Gurugram. The lawyer representing accused Kalyan Bainsla has put forward his client's version of events and explained why, according to the defence, Kalyan left the scene after the collision.

Kalyan Bainsla's lawyer, Naveen Bainsla, has claimed that his client left the location because he feared being attacked by a crowd. According to the lawyer, Kalyan was concerned that people present at the scene could assault him, which led him to leave the spot.

The lawyer has also raised questions about the speed and conduct of the bikers involved in the incident. He has alleged that the bikers were travelling at high speed and that Kalyan was provoked.

These claims have been made by the defence and will have to be examined against the evidence collected during the investigation. The actual circumstances surrounding the collision will ultimately depend on the investigation, available video footage, witness statements and the legal proceedings.

What Happened on Golf Course Road?

The incident took place on Golf Course Road in Gurugram, where a car collided with Siya's motorcycle. Following the impact, Siya fell onto the road, while her motorcycle reportedly slid a considerable distance.

Video footage related to the incident also emerged, bringing the case into public attention. Siya had alleged that the people in the car had been following her and that she had been signalled to stop.

According to her version, she continued riding instead of stopping. She later alleged that the car moved towards her motorcycle and hit it.

The driver subsequently left the scene. Gurugram Police took cognisance of the incident and began investigating the matter. The driver was identified and later arrested in connection with the case.

What Does the Defence Say?

The defence has now presented a different explanation for why Kalyan left the location after the collision.

Lawyer Naveen Bainsla has claimed that Kalyan feared being assaulted by people at the scene. According to the defence, the situation appeared unsafe and Kalyan believed that he could be attacked if he remained there.

The lawyer has therefore argued that leaving the scene was linked to fear for his own safety rather than an intention to evade the law.

Questions Raised About the Bikers

The defence has also raised questions about the speed at which the bikers were travelling. The lawyer has alleged that the bikers were riding at high speed and that Kalyan was provoked.

The claims are part of the accused's defence and have not by themselves established what actually happened. Investigators will need to examine the available evidence to determine the sequence of events.

Role of Video Evidence

Video footage could play an important role in establishing what happened before and after the collision. Investigators may examine the movements of the car and motorcycles, the distance between the vehicles, their speed and any interaction between the people involved.

Statements from witnesses who were present at the location may also help establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The investigation is expected to examine whether there was any confrontation before the collision and why the driver left the scene afterward.

Key Questions in the Case

Several questions remain important in the investigation. These include the exact circumstances in which the collision occurred, the speed of the vehicles, whether the driver deliberately moved towards the motorcycle, and what happened immediately after the impact.

Police will also have to examine the allegations made by Siya alongside the claims put forward by the defence.

At present, the lawyer's statement represents the position of the accused side. The final facts of the case will depend on the evidence collected during the investigation and the subsequent legal proceedings.
