Haryana MLA receives fresh death threat, Rs 50 million extortion demand sent via WhatsApp

Congress MLA Balram Dangi from Meham in Haryana's Rohtak district has received another death threat, with the sender demanding an extortion payment of Rs 50 million through WhatsApp.

According to the message, the sender warned, "Earlier, bullets were fired at your office windows. Now arrange Rs 50 million, or the next bullets will be fired at you." The sender identified himself as Sumit alias Chhotu Samaniya, while the message was reportedly sent from an international phone number.

The latest threat comes days after unidentified gunmen opened fire at Dangi's office in Meham. Police said around four to five rounds were fired, damaging the office windows. The office is located directly opposite the Meham police station, raising concerns over security.

Police have launched an investigation to trace the origin of the WhatsApp message and identify those responsible. Security around the MLA has also been strengthened.
