Police in South Kashmir's Kulgam district launched a twin operation on Monday, conducting raids on locations linked to members and supporters of the banned Jamaat-e-Islami organisation while simultaneously initiating a Narco Cordon and Search Operation.
According to police officials, the action is part of a broader strategy aimed at preventing activities that pose a threat to public peace and security.
Search operations were conducted in several areas, including Yaripora, Behibagh and Frisal. During the raids, police reportedly recovered electronic devices and literature linked to the banned organisation.
Authorities said nearly two dozen suspected members and supporters were brought under scrutiny as part of the operation.
Police also stated that, alongside action against separatist-linked elements, investigators have identified certain individuals suspected of having links to narco-terror activities. Further inquiries are currently underway.
Officials maintained that such operations will continue in an effort to strengthen security and maintain law and order in the region.
