New Delhi: India is celebrating its 80th Independence Day with national pride and patriotic spirit. On the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the national flag at the Red Fort and addressed the nation for the 13th consecutive time on Independence Day.
During his address, Prime Minister Modi spoke about national unity, social harmony and the challenges facing the country. He urged citizens to remain vigilant against mindsets that could encourage violence and disorder in society.
The Prime Minister used the term “dimaagi Naxalis”, warning that such elements could be waiting for an opportunity. He stressed that such tendencies need to be identified in time and isolated so that they do not influence society.

Prime Minister Modi said that some people may try to take society in the wrong direction through different methods. He stressed the importance of recognising such attempts and preventing them from creating instability.
He also appealed to citizens to remain cautious about rumours, violence and activities that could divide society. According to his message, maintaining peace and social harmony is not only the responsibility of the government but also an important responsibility of every citizen.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the role of India's youth. He said the country's young population is one of its biggest strengths and that young people should use their energy in areas such as education, technology, innovation and nation-building.
He described Independence Day as an opportunity to make new commitments for the country's future. He urged citizens to contribute towards strengthening India's unity, integrity and democratic values.
