Shiv Sena UBT Issues Notices to 6 Absent MPs

New Delhi. Signs of fresh political turbulence have emerged within Shiv Sena (UBT) after six of its nine Lok Sabha MPs failed to attend an important parliamentary party meeting in Delhi.

The meeting was attended by only three Lok Sabha members along with Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut. Following the absence of the six MPs, the party leadership issued show-cause notices seeking an explanation.

Political circles have been abuzz with speculation that some of the MPs may be in contact with the Shiv Sena faction led by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The development has revived discussions about another possible split within the party.

Addressing the media, Sanjay Raut described the absence of the MPs as an act of indiscipline and alleged conspiracy against the party. He warned that legal and organizational action could follow against those who violated the party whip.

MP Anil Desai confirmed that notices had been sent to all absent members, asking them to explain why they failed to attend despite being informed in advance. Further action, he said, would depend on their responses.

The episode has drawn comparisons with the 2022 rebellion that led to a major split in Shiv Sena. Political observers are now closely watching the next steps taken by the party leadership.
