Two Storms Batter Japan 200 Flights Cancelled Flood and Landslide Threat Grows

Japan is facing severe weather as two tropical storms continue to affect large parts of the country. Around 200 flights have been cancelled while several train services have also been suspended due to heavy rain and strong winds.

The Japan Meteorological Agency has warned of possible flooding overflowing rivers and landslides in western and eastern regions. Authorities have urged nearly one million residents to move to safer locations and emergency alerts have been issued in several areas.

The storms have also disrupted transport networks with expressways and rail services affected causing major inconvenience to commuters and travellers.

Officials have advised people to avoid unnecessary travel remain indoors where possible and follow all emergency instructions as rescue and disaster response teams stay on high alert.
