The Uttar Pradesh government has submitted a proposal to establish 10 new industrial areas under its Plug and Play policy. The initiative is expected to strengthen manufacturing, attract investment, and create new employment opportunities across the state.
According to officials, the central government is working on a nationwide plan to develop 100 new industrial areas to promote industrial growth and improve the ease of doing business. States have been asked to submit proposals by July, with 25 industrial areas planned in each of the first two phases.
The government is also preparing to introduce the Jan Vishwas Amendment Bill 3.0 to further simplify business regulations. Earlier reforms under Jan Vishwas 2.0 removed direct imprisonment provisions in 717 categories of industrial offences.
Officials stated that India's exports have grown significantly over the past 12 years. Uttar Pradesh has also improved its export ranking, moving from 11th place to 9th place nationally.
Industry representatives and exporters have been consulted to gather suggestions for further reforms aimed at creating a more business-friendly environment.
