Woman Killed for Opposing Husband's Affair, Four Arrested in Ranchi

Ranchi police have solved the murder case of a woman who earned her livelihood by selling golgappas, revealing a shocking story involving an alleged affair, jealousy, and a planned conspiracy.

The victim's body was found near Siri Sohrai Hill in the Tupudana area a few days ago. Following an investigation, police identified her as Rekha Devi (name changed), a resident of Pipartoli in Ranchi.

According to police, Rekha Devi had been opposing an alleged relationship between her husband and a neighbouring woman, Sandhya Kumari Oraon. Investigators say Sandhya viewed the victim as an obstacle and conspired to eliminate her.

Police allege that on June 19, the accused abducted the woman using a car fitted with a fake number plate. She was reportedly taken to an isolated location, where she was murdered before her body was dumped near the hill to destroy evidence.

Using CCTV footage, mobile location tracking, and other technical evidence, investigators traced the suspects and arrested four people involved in the crime. Police also recovered the vehicle used in the crime, illegal firearms, ammunition, and mobile phones.
