Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi is likely to visit Dehradun on July 17 as the Congress intensifies preparations for a youth-focused interaction. Parade Ground has been proposed as the preferred venue, though the final decision will depend on administrative approval.
The event is expected to be held under the "Students' Voice" initiative, aimed at creating an open platform where students and competitive exam aspirants can directly share their concerns and ask questions.
According to party sources, Rahul Gandhi's core team has already reached Dehradun to inspect the venue, review security arrangements, and coordinate with local Congress leaders.
The discussion is expected to focus on education, paper leaks, recruitment delays, unemployment, and challenges faced by young people. Unlike a traditional political rally, the programme will emphasize interactive discussions and question-answer sessions.
Rahul Gandhi's earlier Uttarakhand visit in June was cancelled due to bad weather. Congress now hopes to successfully complete the visit and hold a meaningful interaction with students and youth. The official schedule and venue are yet to be announced.
