Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has intensified his attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party over the alleged Ram Temple donation controversy, accusing the ruling party of misusing religious faith for political and financial gain.
In a detailed statement shared on social media, Yadav claimed that the issue was not merely a sequence of events but reflected what he described as a deliberate pattern of misconduct. He alleged that donations collected in the name of religion lacked transparency and questioned the handling of public contributions.
The SP leader accused the BJP of attempting to divert public attention whenever questions are raised regarding financial accountability. He further alleged that evidence in such cases is often concealed and that political narratives are used to shift focus from the core issues.
Yadav stated that public institutions handling donations should function with complete transparency and accountability. According to him, citizens have the right to know how public contributions are managed, particularly when they are linked to religious institutions.
He also announced that his party would continue raising the issue before the public and would campaign across the country to highlight what he called the need for greater transparency in matters involving public donations.
Apart from the donation controversy, Akhilesh Yadav made an emotional appeal to social activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike. He urged Wangchuk to end his fast, saying that his health and life were of utmost importance and that democratic struggles should continue through peaceful and healthy participation.
The Ram Temple donation controversy continues to generate political debate, with leaders from different parties expressing their views while legal and political developments surrounding the matter remain under close watch.
