The Bihar government’s Labour Resources Department has introduced two new initiatives aimed at supporting employment and self-employment opportunities for young people in Kaimur district. Under these schemes, eligible candidates will receive either a Study Kit for competitive exam preparation or a Tool Kit to help start self-employment ventures.
The District Employment Office in Kaimur has invited applications from eligible candidates. The last date to submit applications is July 22, 2026, and forms will be accepted until 4:00 pm on that day. Officials have advised applicants to complete the process before the deadline, as late applications will not be considered.
Under the Study Kit scheme, candidates preparing for UPSC and BPSC examinations can receive assistance of up to ₹5,000. Applicants preparing for other competitive examinations will be eligible for support of up to ₹2,500 to purchase books, notes, and other study materials.
To avail of the Study Kit benefit, applicants must be permanent residents of Bihar, registered with the employment office for at least six months, and belong to a family with an annual income below ₹3 lakh. They must also have applied for a government job and meet the educational eligibility criteria for the relevant examination.
The second initiative, the Tool Kit scheme, is designed to promote self-employment among technically trained youth. Beneficiaries can receive equipment worth up to ₹5,000 in trades such as electrician, fitter, plumber, beautician, sewing machine operator, and electronics repair, among others.
Applicants for the Tool Kit scheme must be Bihar residents between 18 and 40 years of age, belong to a family with an annual income below ₹3 lakh, and have completed at least three months of technical training from a recognized institution. Trainees from RSETI, PMKVY, DDU-GKY, and Jan Shikshan Sansthan are also eligible.
The department has stated that women, persons with disabilities, transgender applicants, and candidates from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes will be given priority during the selection process.
