Trinamool Congress (TMC) Rajya Sabha MP and Bengali film actor Koyel Mallick has resigned from the Upper House of Parliament. She submitted her resignation to Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan.
In her resignation letter, Mallick requested that her resignation be accepted with immediate effect. She also expressed gratitude to the Chairman, Deputy Chairman, and the officials and staff of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat for their support and cooperation during her tenure.
Koyel Mallick was nominated by the Trinamool Congress for the Rajya Sabha a few months ago. She is a well-known name in the Bengali film industry and has been associated with cinema for many years.
Her resignation comes at a time of political developments within the Trinamool Congress. A day earlier, TMC MLA Madan Mitra reportedly left the party and joined a rebel faction, adding to the ongoing political developments in West Bengal.
