A heartbreaking incident has been reported from Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh, where a 12-year-old boy lost his life after being attacked by a crocodile in the Ghaghara River.
According to reports, the boy had gone to a paddy field with his uncle for plantation work. After finishing the work, both went to the riverbank to wash their hands and feet. At that moment, a crocodile suddenly emerged from the water, grabbed the boy's leg, and dragged him into the river.
The boy struggled to free himself while his uncle and nearby villagers tried to rescue him by shouting and throwing stones. However, the crocodile disappeared into deeper water with the child.
Villagers continued a search operation for several hours, using torches after nightfall. About five hours later, the boy's body was recovered from the river some distance away from the spot.
Police sent the body for post-mortem examination, while forest officials also confirmed the incident. Authorities stated that the crocodile attack caused severe injuries.
The child had reportedly lost both parents several years ago and was living with his uncle. The incident has left the entire village in mourning.
