*New Delhi:* In a significant political gesture, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and senior leaders of the INDIA alliance visited Gandhi Smriti to pay tribute to students who reportedly lost their lives amid the controversy surrounding the NEET examination. The visit came after a strategy meeting of opposition leaders focused on education reforms, examination transparency, and accountability.

The meeting, held at Rahul Gandhi's residence in New Delhi, was attended by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, NCP leader Supriya Sule, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Rajya Sabha MP Jairam Ramesh, and several other senior opposition leaders.

Following the meeting, the leaders travelled together to Gandhi Smriti, where they observed silence in memory of the deceased students. They emphasized that the purpose of the visit was to express solidarity with students and their families while reaffirming the need for reforms in the examination system.

Rahul Gandhi stated that students are not alone in their fight for justice. According to him, restoring trust in the education system requires transparency, accountability, and meaningful reforms. He said the concerns of students deserve serious attention and should not become a matter of political neglect.

Opposition leaders reiterated their demand for accountability in the handling of examination-related issues and called for measures to ensure fairness in future competitive examinations. They also stressed that the future of young people should remain above political disagreements.

The leaders said their protest and tribute were intended to highlight the importance of democratic engagement and peaceful advocacy. They urged the government to engage constructively on education-related concerns and strengthen confidence in the country's examination system.
