New Delhi: The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) launched an extensive cleanup and restoration drive immediately after the conclusion of the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar. According to officials, the operation was completed within a record 12 hours, restoring the protest site and surrounding roads to normal conditions.

NDMC stated that more than 60 metric tonnes of mixed waste were collected during the operation. The waste included plastic materials, banners, posters, construction debris, stones, and other solid waste accumulated during the demonstration.

Roads and footpaths were washed using mechanized cleaning equipment, while walls, barricades, and public structures carrying slogans and graffiti were repainted. Damaged pavements, kerbstones, and civic infrastructure were also repaired as part of the restoration work.

More than 500 officials and workers from sanitation, civil engineering, and horticulture departments participated in the operation. High-pressure jetting machines, heavy trucks, auto-tippers, and mechanized sweeping equipment were deployed to complete the work within a short period.

The cleanup was not limited to Jantar Mantar alone. Authorities extended the operation to Tolstoy Marg, Jantar Mantar Road, Jai Singh Road, Parliament Street, and the Inner and Outer Circle of Connaught Place to restore cleanliness across the surrounding areas.

Officials said additional manpower and machinery were arranged due to the unusually large volume of waste generated during the protest. Special teams also worked overnight to ensure that public spaces were ready for normal use as quickly as possible.

NDMC added that horticulture teams are continuing efforts to restore damaged green spaces and landscaped areas, which may require additional time.

Authorities said the operation demonstrates the civic body's preparedness to restore public spaces quickly after large public gatherings while maintaining sanitation and urban infrastructure.
