The Uttar Pradesh government presented a supplementary budget of ₹59,019 crore in the Legislative Assembly on the second day of the Monsoon Session. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna tabled the budget, proposing additional financial allocations for various government departments and ongoing development initiatives.

A supplementary budget is introduced to provide additional funds beyond the annual budget to meet new expenditures, development projects, welfare schemes, and administrative requirements that arise during the financial year. The government stated that the additional allocation would help strengthen infrastructure, public services, and various state welfare programmes.

The Assembly witnessed active political discussions after the budget was presented. While the ruling party described the supplementary budget as a step towards accelerating development and improving public services, the opposition raised several issues concerning the state's governance and policy priorities.

On the first day of the Monsoon Session, legislators from the Samajwadi Party and the Congress staged protests outside the Assembly over alleged irregularities related to Ram Temple offerings and the NEET paper leak issue. They demanded accountability from the government on both matters.

The first day's proceedings also included a condolence resolution in memory of senior Samajwadi Party MLA Alambadi, regarded as the country's oldest legislator. Following the tribute, the House was adjourned until Tuesday morning.

After the supplementary budget was presented on Tuesday, the Assembly proceedings were briefly adjourned. The budget is expected to be discussed in detail during the remaining days of the session, where members will debate the proposed allocations and government priorities.
