The second day of the Jharkhand Assembly's Monsoon Session was dominated by protests over alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) recruitment examinations. As soon as the House assembled, the opposition targeted the state government, demanding accountability and transparency in the recruitment process.

Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi urged the government to cancel the disputed examinations and order a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe under the supervision of the judiciary. He argued that allegations surrounding the recruitment process had seriously affected the confidence of lakhs of aspirants and that an impartial investigation was necessary to restore public trust.

Responding on behalf of the government, Minister Sudivya Kumar countered the opposition's allegations and asked BJP leaders to explain controversies related to the first and second Civil Services examinations conducted during previous administrations. He accused the opposition of selectively raising the issue for political reasons.

The exchange soon escalated into a heated confrontation. BJP legislators moved near the Speaker's chair, raised slogans against the government, and demanded justice for job aspirants. Due to continuous disruptions, Question Hour could not proceed smoothly, and the Speaker adjourned the House till 12:30 PM.

The issue had also dominated the opening day of the Monsoon Session. BJP MLAs entered the Assembly wearing masks carrying the slogan "Justice, Not Deception," while also demanding a CBI investigation into the JPSC, JSSC, and CGL recruitment examinations. The opposition alleged that large-scale irregularities had compromised the integrity of the recruitment process and adversely affected thousands of candidates.

BJP MLA Pradeep Prasad stated that students across Jharkhand had been protesting peacefully for a long time and deserved a fair hearing. He said the party would continue its protest inside and outside the Assembly until the demands of the aspirants were fulfilled.

The Monsoon Session of the Jharkhand Assembly is scheduled from August 6 to August 12. However, with weekend holidays, only five working days are available for legislative business. Political observers believe the JPSC-JSSC controversy is likely to remain one of the central issues throughout the remaining session.
