IndiGo Flight With 224 Onboard Makes Emergency Landing at Chennai Airport

Chennai:*An IndiGo flight travelling from Kolkata to Chennai faced a technical problem shortly before landing on Tuesday night, prompting authorities at Chennai Airport to declare a full emergency.

The aircraft, operating as IndiGo flight 6E-723, was carrying a total of 224 people. According to airport officials, the pilot detected a problem with the aircraft's left engine while preparing for landing and immediately informed Air Traffic Control.

The flight was scheduled to arrive in Chennai at around 11:30 pm. However, the engine problem was detected shortly before the scheduled landing, following which emergency response procedures were activated at the airport.
