The case involving Nishu Azad's father, Sanjay Kumar, and alleged assault during a protest at Jantar Mantar returned to the spotlight on Friday after CJP workers and leaders reached Parliament Street Police Station in Delhi.

CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, along with supporters, gathered outside the police station demanding strict legal action against Swatantra Bhardwaj. Nishu Azad also reached the police station, while Azad Samaj Party MP Chandrashekhar Azad joined the delegation and met police officials regarding the case. 

The protesters demanded that stronger provisions be added to the existing FIR, including relevant sections of the SC/ST Act. They also sought action under provisions relating to an alleged attempt to murder. Reports indicate that the police were considering the applicability of the more serious charge on the basis of medical findings and legal advice. 

The dispute is connected to an incident during a protest at Jantar Mantar in which Sanjay Kumar was allegedly assaulted. The controversy intensified after a video involving Swatantra Bhardwaj circulated on social media. CJP subsequently demanded that the police take stronger action in the case. 

Following discussions with the police, CJP leaders said that the authorities had assured them that relevant provisions of the SC/ST Act would be added to the FIR and that action would be taken regarding Bhardwaj's arrest.

Nishu Azad also said that police officials had assured her that action would be taken within 72 hours. She expressed hope that there would be no further delay in the investigation and legal process. 

The issue of alleged online threats against Nishu Azad was also raised during the meeting. According to reports, Nishu complained of abusive messages and serious threats on social media following the controversy. Her supporters demanded that the police investigate these complaints separately and ensure her safety. 

MP Chandrashekhar Azad also demanded effective action and protection for the family. CJP leaders maintained that the matter should be investigated fairly and that the law should be applied without any outside influence.

A later development on Friday was the reported detention of Swatantra Bhardwaj in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. According to the report, Delhi Police took him to Chola Police Station in Bulandshahr for questioning. 

The case is now likely to focus on the investigation, the sections added to the FIR, the allegations made by both sides and the next legal steps. The allegations will ultimately be determined through the due legal process.
