Punjabi Singer Ammy Virk& Convoy Targeted in Canada, Seven Shots Fired; Bulletproof Vehicle Saves Lives

Abbotsford: Punjabi singer and actor Ammy Virk's convoy was reportedly targeted in a shooting incident in Abbotsford, Canada. The incident took place on the night of September 5, shortly after Virk attended a programme. As his convoy was returning, attackers allegedly opened fire at a luxury vehicle travelling with the group on McCallum Road.

According to preliminary information, around seven rounds were fired at the vehicle. The targeted vehicle was bulletproof, which prevented the bullets from reaching the people inside. Ammy Virk and the other occupants escaped unharmed.

Following the incident, Abbotsford police launched an investigation. Authorities are treating the incident as a possible targeted attack, although police have not yet officially identified any particular individual or gang as being behind the shooting.

Attack Took Place After the Event

Ammy Virk's programme was held at the Rogers Forum Hall in Abbotsford. After the event ended, he left the venue as part of a convoy.

At around 11 pm, attackers travelling in a dark-coloured SUV reportedly targeted one of the vehicles in the convoy on McCallum Road. Several shots were fired at the vehicle before the attackers fled the scene.

It is not yet clear whether Ammy Virk himself was the intended target or whether the vehicle was targeted for another reason. Investigators are examining different possibilities as part of the ongoing probe.

 Bulletproof Vehicle Prevented Serious Consequences

The most significant factor in the incident was the bulletproof protection of the vehicle carrying Ammy Virk and others. Despite multiple rounds being fired, the occupants remained safe.

There have been no reports of Ammy Virk or any other person in the vehicle being injured. However, the fact that several rounds were fired has led authorities to treat the incident seriously.

Investigators are now working to determine the identity of the attackers, the vehicle they used, the weapon involved and the possible motive behind the shooting.

 CCTV Footage Could Be Crucial

Surveillance footage from the area could play an important role in the investigation. Police may examine CCTV recordings to identify the attackers' vehicle and establish the route they used to leave the area.

Investigators are also expected to gather information from witnesses who may have seen the shooting or noticed the suspicious vehicle before or after the incident.

So far, police have not officially confirmed the arrest of any suspect or established the involvement of any specific criminal organisation.

Previous Incidents Involving Punjabi Artists

The latest shooting has renewed concerns over the safety of Punjabi musicians and entertainers living or performing in Canada. There have been several previous incidents involving prominent Punjabi artists.

In September 2024, a shooting was reported near the Canadian residence of Punjabi singer AP Dhillon. Reports also emerged of vehicles parked outside the property being set on fire. Claims of responsibility in that case were linked to individuals allegedly associated with a criminal gang.

In November 2023, shots were also reportedly fired outside the White Rock residence of Punjabi singer and actor Gippy Grewal. Claims involving a criminal gang were also made following that incident.

Karan Aujla Had Also Spoken About Threats

Punjabi singer Karan Aujla has previously spoken about security concerns during his time in Canada. In an interview, he claimed that he had faced multiple shooting incidents and received several extortion-related threats.

In 2019, his Canada-based residence was also reportedly targeted in a shooting. He later chose to live in Dubai due to security concerns.

In October 2025, Punjabi singer Teji Kahlon was also reportedly targeted in a shooting incident in Canada. A series of such incidents has increased concerns about the safety of Punjabi artists working and performing in the country.

 Investigation Will Determine the Motive

The shooting involving Ammy Virk's convoy has once again raised questions about the security of Punjabi artists in Canada. The biggest relief in this case is that the bulletproof vehicle prevented anyone inside from being seriously harmed.

The investigation will now focus on identifying the attackers, tracing the vehicle used in the shooting and establishing the motive behind the attack. CCTV footage, witness accounts and other evidence could help authorities determine whether the incident was specifically aimed at Ammy Virk and why his convoy was targeted.
