Thunder Dominate Suns Again but Jalen Williams Injury Raises Concerns
The Oklahoma City Thunder continued their strong playoff run with a convincing 120-107 victory over the Phoenix Suns, taking a 2-0 lead in their first-round Western Conference series. However, the win was overshadowed by an injury concern to key player Jalen Williams.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander delivered a standout performance, scoring 37 points and adding nine assists to lead his team. After a slow start, he found his rhythm and played a crucial role in maintaining control throughout the game.

Jalen Williams, who has already struggled with injuries this season, was forced to leave midway through the third quarter after appearing to suffer a left hamstring issue. The forward pulled up while driving to the basket and did not return to the game. Before his exit, he had contributed 19 points on efficient shooting along with four assists.

Head coach Mark Daigneault said the team will evaluate Williams’ condition over the next few days, leaving uncertainty around his availability for upcoming games.

The Thunder took control of the contest in the third quarter, driven by the combined efforts of Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren. Holmgren was dominant on both ends, finishing with 19 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks, while helping extend the lead significantly.

Oklahoma City built a lead of more than 20 points heading into the final quarter. Although the Suns attempted a late comeback and cut the deficit to 10 points, a timely three-pointer from Ajay Mitchell helped the Thunder regain momentum and close out the game comfortably.

For Phoenix, Dillon Brooks led the scoring with 30 points, including a strong fourth-quarter display. Devin Booker added 22 points, while Jalen Green contributed 21, but their efforts were not enough to overcome Oklahoma City’s dominance.

The game also saw moments of tension, with multiple technical fouls issued during heated exchanges between players, reflecting the intensity of the playoff series.

With the series now shifting to Phoenix for Game 3, the Thunder will look to maintain their advantage, while keeping a close eye on Jalen Williams’ injury status, which could prove crucial in the remainder of the matchup.
