At Least 12 Palestinians Killed in Gaza Amid Ongoing Ceasefire Violations
At least 12 Palestinians have been killed in a series of Israeli attacks across Gaza, according to medical sources, in incidents that have intensified concerns over continued violations of a ceasefire agreement reached last year.

The deadliest strike targeted a police vehicle in Khan Younis, where at least eight people were killed, including civilians who were nearby. In a separate incident in Gaza City, two police officers lost their lives, while another attack on a residential building in Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza killed two more individuals.

Authorities in Gaza have condemned the attacks, particularly the targeting of police personnel, who they say are responsible for maintaining order and providing essential services in civilian areas. Officials have called on the international community to intervene and prevent further escalation, warning that continued silence could lead to more violence.

The recent strikes come despite an ongoing ceasefire that was intended to reduce hostilities. While the agreement has lowered the overall intensity of fighting, reports indicate that attacks have continued, resulting in significant casualties since the truce was put in place.

Health authorities report that hundreds of people have been killed and thousands injured in Gaza since the ceasefire began. The broader conflict, which escalated in October 2023, has caused widespread destruction and a severe humanitarian crisis, with large parts of the territory reduced to rubble and essential infrastructure heavily damaged.

The overall death toll from the conflict has risen sharply, with tens of thousands reported killed and many more injured. Thousands remain missing, with fears that many are trapped under collapsed buildings.

The situation has drawn strong reactions from various groups, with calls for renewed diplomatic efforts to stabilise the region and ensure adherence to the ceasefire terms. Concerns are also growing over the lack of progress in reconstruction efforts and the absence of a clear post-conflict governance framework for Gaza.

As tensions persist, the risk of further escalation remains high, underscoring the fragile nature of the current ceasefire and the challenges facing efforts to achieve a lasting peace in the region.
