Russia Launches Overnight Strikes Across Ukraine, Civilians Killed and Injured
Russia has carried out a fresh wave of heavy attacks across Ukraine over the past 24 hours, including overnight strikes that killed at least one person and injured several others, according to Ukrainian officials.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that approximately 210 drones were launched during the attacks, including around 140 Iranian-made “Shaheed” drones frequently used by Russian forces. He stressed that the continued strikes on civilian and energy infrastructure highlight the need for stronger international pressure on Moscow.

Zelenskyy called on European nations to intensify sanctions and coordinate efforts to weaken Russia, warning that Ukraine’s security remains directly tied to broader regional stability.

Widespread Damage to Infrastructure
The attacks caused significant damage across multiple regions. In the Kharkiv region, railway infrastructure and power systems were hit, leaving thousands of families without electricity. Strikes were also reported in the Sumy and Zaporizhia regions, further disrupting essential services.

In southern Ukraine, drone strikes targeted port infrastructure in the Odesa region. Local authorities confirmed that at least two people were injured in the Black Sea port city of Odesa. Residential buildings were damaged, apartments destroyed, and fires broke out following the attacks. Emergency services were deployed to assist affected residents.

The nearby shipbuilding city of Mykolaiv was also struck by drones, damaging homes in residential areas and sparking fires. Local officials warned that the threat of further attacks remains high and urged residents to stay in shelters.

Intensified Fighting in Central Regions
Central Ukraine also faced repeated assaults. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, Russian forces launched nearly 20 attacks using drones and artillery. Infrastructure damage was reported in Kryvyi Rih, where at least one person was injured.

Additional strikes hit several communities, damaging homes, vehicles, and public infrastructure, including administrative buildings and transport systems. In the Nikopol district, civilian facilities such as petrol stations and buses were also affected.

Continued Attacks in Southern Areas
In the Kherson region, drone attacks continued throughout the day, affecting multiple settlements. Officials reported one fatality and at least eight injuries. Residential buildings, warehouses, and civilian vehicles were among the damaged structures.

Ukraine Strikes Back
Meanwhile, Ukraine carried out its own drone operations, targeting Russia’s Black Sea port of Tuapse for the fourth time in a week. The strike caused a fire at a seaport terminal, with emergency crews responding to the scene. These attacks are part of Ukraine’s strategy to disrupt Russia’s energy infrastructure and reduce its oil revenues.

Growing Pressure for International Action
The latest escalation underscores the ongoing intensity of the conflict, with both sides continuing offensive operations. Ukrainian leaders are urging stronger and more coordinated international measures, particularly from European partners, to counter Russia’s sustained military campaign.

As the conflict continues, civilians remain at the center of the crisis, facing ongoing risks from repeated strikes on urban areas and critical infrastructure.
