Swatantra Bhardwaj Gets Three-Week Bail in Jantar Mantar Case

Hindutva influencer Swatantra Bhardwaj has received interim relief from a Delhi court in connection with an alleged assault during a protest at Jantar Mantar. Additional Sessions Judge Saurabh Pratap Singh Laler granted him interim bail for a period of three weeks.

Following the court's order and completion of the required formalities, Bhardwaj was released from custody. He reportedly walked out of Tihar Jail late Thursday night after the bail conditions were completed.

 Released on ₹50,000 Bail Bond

The court granted the interim relief on a bail bond of ₹50,000. After the necessary procedures were completed, Bhardwaj was released from Tihar Jail. The release comes while the legal proceedings related to the alleged assault case continue.

The interim bail provides temporary relief for a specified period. It does not amount to a final decision on the allegations or bring the case to an end.

Case Linked to Jantar Mantar Protest

The case relates to an incident reported during a protest at Jantar Mantar. According to the allegations in the case, a physical altercation took place during the demonstration, following which police action was initiated.

Swatantra Bhardwaj was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident and was in judicial custody. The allegations against him remain subject to the ongoing legal process.

Court Grants Temporary Relief

Additional Sessions Judge Saurabh Pratap Singh Laler considered the matter and granted Bhardwaj interim bail for three weeks. The order provides him temporary relief from custody, subject to the conditions imposed by the court.

Since the bail is interim in nature, the next stages of the proceedings will determine how the matter progresses after the three-week period.

Release From Tihar Jail

After the court granted bail, the required documentation and release formalities were completed. Bhardwaj subsequently left Tihar Jail late Thursday night.

His release marks a temporary change in his custody status, while the underlying case and allegations continue to remain before the legal authorities.

 What Happens Next?

The case will continue through the judicial process, and the conditions attached to the interim bail will have to be followed during the period of release. Further proceedings will determine the next legal steps in the matter.

The police investigation and court proceedings connected with the alleged incident are separate from the question of interim bail. The grant of temporary bail does not establish either guilt or innocence in the underlying case.

 What Is Interim Bail?

Interim bail is temporary legal relief granted for a limited period while a matter is being considered or until a further order is passed. It is different from a final acquittal or a permanent determination of the case.

In Bhardwaj's case, the Delhi court has granted relief for three weeks. The legal proceedings concerning the allegations will continue according to the court's directions.
